It seems like the writer's strike is making new movies harder and harder to come by. Even so, I can't be mad about a remake of the Karate Kid. Gone is Mr. Miyagi and Ralph Macchio. Enter Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith and you have a new version of an old movie that today's kids are going to forget. If the movie is as transparent as the trailer, then you might waste your $11.50 (did you know movies are $7.50 in Atlanta??), but I suppose seeing Jaden Smith kick a bunch of teenage Chinese ass might be worth it. I was actually completely against this remake until I learned that Jaden Smith was in it. I like that kid. I'm still deciding if I'm going to see it though lol. You can't just redo a classic!
